Jimmy Ray "Greybeard" Hoover , went home to be with His Lord on August 17, 2013, after many years of life's struggles. Born in Wheelersburg, Ohio but lived his adult life in the Dayton area.
Preceded in death by his wife, Judy Hoover of this year; parents, Stewart and Laura Hoover; 3 brothers; a sister and niece.
Survived by two sons, Kevin, Donald (Stephanie) and the love and joy of his life, grandsons, Jacob and Nathan; several nieces, nephews and many good friends.
A 1992 Chrysler retiree and longtime member of Christian Life Center where he served as a Royal Ranger Commander for 35 years and an active participant in the FCF Organization, a pre - 1850's Christian Camping group. Has been a member of Destiny Christian Center for several years and also a Royal Ranger Commander. He had a real zeal for life and loved being with family, friends and neighbors. An avid NASCAR and Browns fan which he enjoyed with his sons and grandson, Nathan.
After retirement he owned "Indian Jewelry by Greybeard" for 8 years, making Indian Choker products.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 am Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Destiny Christian Center, 4691 Bufort Boulevard, Dayton 45424 for friends and family, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 pm Saturday at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, 11890 N Dixie Dr, Tipp City, OH 45371 for friends and family.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Royal Rangers through Destiny Christian Center.
