Jimmy McCoy, age 69 of Huber Heights, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017. He was born July 13, 1948 in Lake City, Tennessee to the late Horace and Bessie McCoy.
Jimmy served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He retired from Martin Marietta after 35 years. Jimmy was a sweet, giving man who did so much for so many people. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lola McCoy; daughter, Amelia Collins; step-sons, Ricky Barnhill and Harold "Jr." Barnhill; grandson, Billy Hisel; brothers, Joe and Frank McCoy of Tennessee and sisters, Margie Duncan and Lucille Powers of Indiana.
Jimmy will be missed by his loving children, Tammy (Wilson) McCoy, Debbie (Paul) Dishon and Ein (Jennifer) Hisel; step-daughters, June Mehaffey, Ruby Gade and Lisa Murphy; step-son, Eddie Barnhill; grandchildren, Nicholas Couch, Kasey Hughes, Kris Hughes, Khloe Hisel, Austin Collins, Coleton Collins; sister, Margaret Hunley, Helen Gambrel, Shirley Banks and Pauline Maxfield.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 12:30-2 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Graveside services and burial with full military honors will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia.
