Jimmie Lee Nickell age 76, of Centerville, passed away January 29, 2019. Jimmie was born in Middletown, Ohio on April 7, 1942. He was the son of Arnold and Lena (Belcher) Nickell who have preceded Jimmie in death. He married Wilma June Harbour on June 2, 1962 in Paris, Kentucky.
Jimmie attended Miamisburg High School. After school, Jimmie went to work for Delco Products that became a part of Delphi Products and retired after 27 years of service. For many years, Jimmie was an avid ham-radio operator and was a member of Xenia X-Warn Ham Radio Operators with a call sign of KB8HPX. In his free time, Jimmie enjoyed all car related events and was quite the car "buff."
Along with his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Nickell-Kent; and brother, Arnold Nickell, Jr..
Jimmie leaves a family legacy of his loving wife, Wilma; 1 brother, Kenneth "Cookie" (Jennifer Gebhardt) Nickell; 1 granddaughter, Chelsey Kent; loving nieces and nephews, and faithful companion and dog, Boots.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, February 4, 2019, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Funeral services are scheduled the following day on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 10:00 am with Fr. Paul Gebhardt officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, 1639 E. Lytle Five Points, Centerville, OH 45458.
