Jimmie L. Gibson

Jimmie Lloyd Gibson Sr. called out to the Lord and the Lord heard him and answered him and granted him Eternal Life on Saturday morning, December 28, 2024. Jimmie was a generous and loving husband, father, and grandfather who deeply loved his family - especially his grandchildren. Jimmie is preceded in death by his son, Jimmie Jr; parents, Aberdeen and Mary Pitts and siblings, Dot, Billy, and Lula.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Ernestine; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Jeff Gauntner; granddaughter, Brittany (Nick) Brown; grandsons, Chris, Aaron, Alexander, Nate; great-grandchildren, Kai Brown, Malia Brown; daughter-in-law, Zaneta Gibson and former daughter-in-law, Mary Gibson. Jimmie is also survived by his siblings in the Pitts Family - Geraldine (Walt) Frazier, Angel, Sue, Mike, and Robert all of Auburn Alabama; devoted brother-in-laws, Floyd (Iris) Weatherspoon, Frank Weatherspoon and sister-in-laws, Bertha (Andrew) Canada, and Leola (Darnell) Baker.

Family would like to express a special thanks to the care team at Sycamorespring and to Dad's favorite nurse, Miss Tequilla, who went above and beyond to care for our Dad, Jimmie.

Jimmie will be greatly missed by the Gibson, Pitts, Baker, Canada, and Weatherspoon families. 

Dad, we love you, and look forward to seeing you in Heaven, soon!

Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Woodland Mausoleum, 118 Woodland Ave in Dayton. Brother Darrell Smith to officiate.
