Jim E. Miller Sr., age 73, of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014.
Jim served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. He worked for UD at WPAFB in research. Jim owned a construction business. He was a manager for Penn Life for many successful years. Jim's favorite job was serving the Lord at Southern Hills Methodist Church. He made the most of every day, and every day was an adventure. His family and church meant everything to him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Cheryl Wehner; his children, Peg "Sis" (Steve) Huber and Jim E. (Penny) Miller Jr.; his grandchildren, Margaret Mary Huber, Whitney Miller, Mikaela Miller and Kaya Miller; his step-children, Russ Wehner and Mike Wehner, Kim (Tim) Waddle; his step-granddaughter, Brianne Wehner; his step-great-granddaughter, Natalie Bronson; his aunt, Charline Vajda; his sisters, Catherine (Daniel) Leary and Susan (Rob) Zapp; his brother, Bob Holmes; and many other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Miller.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 1-3pm at Southern Hills Methodist Church (2287 S Dixie Dr., Kettering, OH 45409). The service will follow at 3pm with Pastor David Broyles officiating.
Donations may be made in Jim's memory to the church or St. Jude.
Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel.
