James Ray Bailey, age 71 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Grandview Hospital. He was born April 5, 1948 in West Carrollton, Ohio the son of the late Elmer and Inez Bailey.
James is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda C. Bailey, children, Rick (Kelly) Jaynes, Lonnie (D'aun) Landis and Enola (Robert) Viets; siblings, Joyce (Paul) Halsey and Roger (Judy) Bailey and granddaughter, Courtney (Nicholas) Dysinger as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Jim was a graduate of Stebbins High School and began his career with the paper industry at Kimberly-Clark Paper where he retired as a tow motor operator in 1991 after almost 25 years. Jim was a former member of Bass and Mates, loved the outdoors, spending time fishing and camping with family and friends and horse racing. He was a devoted family man and will always be remembered for his joy and humor.
Family will receive guests from 1:00-2:00 pm Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home – KETTERING. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm Thursday, also at the funeral home. Services will conclude with procession to Evergreen Cemetery for burial. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
