Jill Valerie Roop

Jill Valerie Roop, 89, passed away peacefully May 23, 2023. Loving wife of Roger Roop for 70 years, cherished mother of Gerald Wayne Roop and Dean Howard Roop, beloved grandmother of Dustin Roop and Gina (Kevin) Allen and adored sister of Pearl (Jack) Ruck and Jeannette (Tony) Smith. Jill is also survived by four great grandchildren as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

Jill was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Elizabeth Basford and her dearest son Denny Roop.

Jill was born in Somerton Oxfordshire England on July 25, 1933. She met Roger in 1951 when she was sitting outside of her father's pub with her dog. She sent the dog after Roger, he brought the dog back to her and they were inseparable ever since.

She was a member of the British Wives Club. She was a very devoted wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She will be very missed by all that knew her.

Public visitation will be held on Tuesday May 30, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton Xenia Rd) at 12:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest next to her son Dennis at Beaver Cemetery.
