THURSTON, Jewell R., 67, of Beavercreek passed away Wednesday January 6, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. She is preceded in death by her parents Ambrose and Exie Redden; and two sisters Christine Sparks and Retta Williams. Jewell is survived by her husband of 43 years, Johnnie B Thurston; son Bryan Thurston, his wife Shelly, of Beavercreek; daughter Teresa Braden, her husband Mark, of Kettering; siblings Estel Redden, Darlene Griffith, and Lowell Redden; grandchildren Rebecca Thurston and Nicholas Thurston; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She served six years in the U.S. Air Force and retired from civil service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base after 21 years. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday January 9, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd. Rev. John E. Konz will be officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Valley View Memorial Gardens. If desired contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
