Jessie Nolan Miller
Age 84, of Tipp City, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Kindred Hospital.
Jessie was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Imogene (Congo) Miller.
Jessie is survived by six children, Dorothy Gentry, Margaret (James) Tandy, James (Deborah) Miller, Linda (Isaac) Lewis, Bobby J. (Kim) Miller & Rene (Jackie) Miller; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren; one brother, George Miller; two sisters, Anniebelle Moore & Gladys Green; and by his extended family & many good friends.
Jessie was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served during WW II on the USS Cassin; he was a founding member of Eastview Baptist Church; a member and former board member of the Dayton Southern Baptist Association; a member of Teamsters Local #957 and retired from Smith Transfer.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, with Pastors Rick Shoemaker and Greg Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery.
The family suggests that contributions be made in memory of Jessie to Hospice of Dayton. The family would like to thank the staff of Kindred Hospital and Dayton Pulmonary Specialists for the care they provided to Jessie.
