Jesse E. Sanders

June 25, 1932 — December 21, 2016

Jesse E. Sanders, 84, of Xenia, passed away on December 21, 2016. He was the son of Jesse "Ray" Sanders and Bernice (Gill) Sanders. He graduated from Spring Valley High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Pearl Jarnagin and Dorothy Thomas; brothers-in-law Harold Thomas and William Chenoweth; and granddaughter, Jody L. Sanders.
Surviving siblings are William (Shirley) Sanders of South Carolina; Irene (Jack) Anders of Xenia; and Pat Chenoweth of Xenia.

Jesse is survived by his four children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: (1) James "Dennis" (Monica) Sanders and daughter, Crystal of Plattsburg, Missouri. (2) Deneese (Rod) Hilderbrandt of Waynesville, Ohio, and children Clista (Zach) Hughes, with children Ethan, Wade, Kolt, and Gage; Amie (Josh) Orwick, with children Grayson and Layna; Rodney (Kiley) Hilderbrandt and daughter, London. (3) Jesse "J.D." (Joyce) Sanders of Xenia, Ohio, and children Stephanie Sanders with children, Landen, Lydia and Alayna; and Hayley Sanders. (4) Joseph "Joe" (Kim) Sanders of Hillsboro, Ohio, and children Natalie DeHaven with children, Blake, Jesse, Colton and Elijah and Lacy Sanders with children Gracie and Macy. There are also numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews surviving. He is also survived by his loving sweetheart, Pauline Carter Martin.

Jesse was a farmer; a gas station attendant at Miller's Sohio in Xenia; and he retired from the City of Xenia as an Equipment Operator with the Street Department.

Jesse was an avid sports fan; played and coached men's softball; coached Little League Baseball; member of the Yellow Rockers Square Dancers Group; socialized at Shawnee Park with retired co-workers; and enjoyed feeding the ducks. He loved talking about farming, raising livestock and John Deere tractors.

The family would like the thank Dr. Arthur Tsai, Nephrologist, who went above and "way" beyond for the care of their father, as well as Dr. John Sawvel who took exceptional care of him. The family would also like to thank the nurses, aides, and therapist on the fourth floor of Kettering Memorial Hospital, Rehab Unit.

A graveside service will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Xenia on the 7th day of January, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Family and Friends are welcome to attend the service, as well as a Celebration of Life luncheon that will be held at the Greene County Fairgrounds Dining Hall in Xenia, immediately following the graveside service at 11:30 AM. Ron Swiger will be officiating over the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers the family would request that you make a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (Pancan.org or mail to 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266) in memory of Jesse's late nephew, Mike Anders; or the First Church of Christ, 441 Ledbetter Road, Xenia, where Jesse was once a member.
