Jerry Lee Smith

Smith, Jerry Lee (71) from Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton surrounded by his loving family on November 5, 2018. Jerry was born December 21, 1946 in Gainesboro, TN and moved to Dayton with his late parents, Ted and Nana Belle (Lee) Smith. Jerry was also preceded in death by his brothers Carl (Poley) and Roy (Herbie) Smith. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gloria Smith, Children Dana Smith (Joe), David Smith (Julie), Jodee Smith (Ray), Mike McIntosh, Lee Pigman, Michelle Bell, sisters Jessie O'Leary and Dene Smith, brother Glen Smith, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Jerry, a retired Teamster (Local 957) worked for Yellow Freight retiring in 1999. He enjoyed hanging out in his garage with friends and family, watching his garden grow with his favorite vegetables and spending time with his dogs, Barclay and Sugar (passed 2017). Family will receive guests from 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7:00 pm also at the funeral home.
