Jerry R. Semones II, age 90 of Kettering, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton, Ohio. He was born June 9, 1931 in Dayton, the son of the late Jerry R. and Helen (nee Moore) Semones Sr.
Jerry's occupation was a printer, working in early years at the Otterbein Press of Dayton. Jerry enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved music, and was a trumpet player in a band. He played music at the senior center in Kettering. Jerry had many interests in his lifetime. During the holidays, he and his wife Bettie participated in Dayton and Xenia's Christmas parades dressed and performing as clowns. He loved bowling with his son Chip, playing golf, fishing, ballroom dancing, and coaching Little League ball team for his son. As a family, they enjoyed traveling to Florida and Hawaii, playing the slots in Las Vegas, Bingo, and going on cruises. Jerry truly enjoyed his family and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents: Jerry and Helen Semones Sr.; wife, Bettie (nee Mansfield) Semones; sister, Marjorie Iris (nee Semones) Hatfield. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Semones; son, Chip Semones; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton in Jerry's memory.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 1:30 to 3:00 pm at Patterson Park Church (3655 E. Patterson Rd., Beavercreek, OH ). A funeral service will be held at the church immediately following the visitation at 3:00 pm with Pastor Joseph Godwin officiating.
