Jerry Lou Hensley, age 68 of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2016. She passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 29, 1947 in Mills, KY to the late Mason and Linda Wagers. In addition to her parents, Jerry Lou was preceded in death by her sister, Cordie Wagers; brother, Mason Wagers, Jr.; sisters-in-law: Christine Deaton, Jewell Hensley and Margie Hensley; and brothers-in-law: Donald Slusher, Luster Patterson and Orvil "Cotton" Hensley. Jerry Lou was also preceded in death by her dear friend, Joyce Musick.
Jerry Lou is survived by her husband of 50 years, Franch Hensley; son, Scotty (Jennifer) Hensley; granddaughters: Amanda (Michael) Snyder and Kasey Hensley; great-grandson, Wyatt Jaxon Snyder; brothers: James Wagers and Kenneth (Sharon) Wagers; sisters: Thelma (Dan) Allred, Carlene Slusher and Connie (Tom) Trosper; sisters-in-law: Rannie Patterson, Kathy Wagers, Barbara Hensley and Carrie Hensley; brothers-in-law: J.D. Hensley, Mitchell Hensley and Jake Hensley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry Lou was a strong woman of faith who attended Northridge Freewill Baptist Church. She was a retired housekeeper from Good Samaritan Hospital. Jerry Lou was an amazing woman, who loved life, especially cleaning. She was a very giving person, who never turned her back on anyone. More than anything, Jerry Lou loved her family and friends. She was so loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 am on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
