Jerry Layton Lane, went home to Jesus on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the age of 77.
Jerry was born to Earl and Rosina on December 14, 1944, in Alva, Kentucky. Jerry and his wife, Carol Faye, who knew each other most of their lives, married on September 7, 1966. They went on to have two children, Jerry II and Tom. Jerry studied at Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky. He worked and retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in the National Air and Space Intel Center, formally named the Foreign Technology Division.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Jerry also loved woodworking, farming and repairing anything for anyone. Throughout his entire life, Jerry held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
Jerry joins his parents, Earl and Rosina; his wife, Carol Faye; his daughter-in-law, Aimee Lane; and his sister-in-law, Doris Lane in Heaven. He is survived by his sons, Jerry II and Tom (Carrie); his grandchildren, Adam (Jordan) Jones, Jerryd Jones, Jordan (Taylor) Lane, Alex (Megan) Lane, J.P. Lane and Claira Lane; his great grandchildren, Hannah, Madeline, Everleigh, Eloise and Avery; and his siblings, MaryLou (Marion) Dugger, William (Phyllis) Lane, Sharon (Don) Barton and Jim (Josie) Lane.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am with Jordan Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia, Ohio.
