Jerry W. Farmer, Sr., age 78 of Dayton, passed away February 4, 2021. He was born November 3, 1942 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Russell and Ruby Farmer. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sons and daughter-in-law: Michael & Bobbie Jo Stewart and Brandin Farmer; brother, Johnny Farmer; and sisters: Nola Salyers, Brenda Wampler and Bertha Kinder.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis Ann (Jones) Farmer; children: Charles & Tammy Farmer, Gayle & Steve Shanks, Ronald & Chelsi Farmer, Lisa Ann Stewart, Jerry Jr. and Paggie Farmer and Wendell Farmer; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Bruce Day (Betty), Mary Taylor, David Farmer (Edna) and Juywina Brown (J.T.); and many other family members and friends.
Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He demonstrated courage and strength beyond comprehension. He loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and camping, as he enjoyed family time. There was always a place in his heart and at his table for anyone in need.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. A private funeral service will be held for the family. His burial will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made in Jerry's memory to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center - Cardiac Unit.
