Jerome A. Kastle, "Jerry," age 81 of Huber Heights, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at his home. He was born March 3, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Elvira Kastle.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann Kastle; infant daughter, Angela Marie; as well as several siblings.
Jerry is survived by his children, Steven Kastle (Joni Kakatolis), Cheryl (Thomas) Trick, Christopher (Thea) Kastle; grandchildren, Adriane (Steven), Stevie, Chet, Eric (Megan), Andrew (Lisa), Ashley (Chris), Elizabeth (Brad), Christopher II; great grandchildren, Colin, Lily, Blake, Avery, Colton, Axel, Arthur, Abigail, Amelia, Daleen; brother, Jimmy (Mary) Kastle; sisters, Betty Grewe, Susie (Larry) Schlea; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many, many good friends.
Jerry started his plumbing business, Kastle Plumbing, in 1980. He bowled for many years at Marian Lanes in Huber Heights. He was also a member of the Huber Heights Eagles, AmVets and Rotary Club. He loved golf and always looked forward to his yearly trip to Myrtle Beach with the Dayton Firefighters which he attended for 29 years "straight." He was also the "golf course superintendent" at Cliffside Golf Course where he had 2 hole-in-one's. Jerry also enjoyed going to Lake Cumberland, where he built his own cottage that he was very proud of. He always had a good time there.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Hospice of Dayton, especially Cheri, RN, Jane, RN, Allison, RN, Carmen, RN, Melissa, RN, Monica, Social Worker, Angeline OT, Tammy, RT, Jeffrey Brown, Chaplain, as well as all of his doctors and nurses who cared for Jerry over the years.
Also, a special thanks to Kenny Gibbs, his "dietician" for making sure he had his Wendy's frosty's.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2018 at 10 am at St. Peter Catholic Church (6161 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights, OH 45424). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Dayton in Jerry's memory.
