Jerome Gilbert Harmeling

Jerome Gilbert Harmeling, 83, passed away Wednesday March 2, 2022. Jerry was born July 10, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerome H. Harmeling and Jeannette M. Harmeling and stepdaughter Sandra Hughes. Jerry graduated from Chaminade High School and joined the military right after high school. His career in the Army as a cook would be a driving force in his passion for cooking. He also enjoyed Woodworking and gardening until C.O.P.D. started to slow him down. At that point he watched more NASCAR, Boxing, and Hockey. He also became the primary caregiver to the love of his life, Dee. The two of them rescued multiple dogs over their 50 years together and he was a true animal lover. He spent time every day feeding the birds and squirrels in his backyard.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Dorene "Dee" Harmeling, Stepdaughter Terri Parks (Brian Parks), Grandchildren, Heather Brown (Jonathon Brown), Jennifer Combs (Grant Combs), Stephanie Hughes (Brandon Wyen), Brandon Parks (Keshia Eldridge), Bret Parks (Leocadia Parks) and 10 great grandchildren Jeremiah Combs, Layna Eldridge, Carley Wyen, Makenna Eldridge, Grace Combs, Niya Parks, Rylan Brown, Asher Wyen, Octavia Parks, and Amelia Parks.
