LEE, Jerald Reed age 66, of Dayton passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at his home. Jerry was born November 28, 1947 to parents Harold and Hazel lee. He was a fun loving, loyal and selfless husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Pearl Lee; brother, Jimmy Lee (Patty) and his mother-in-law, Evelyn Wannemacher. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda; his sons, Christopher and Eric Lee (Erin); his granddaughter, Ella Lee; father, Harold (Betty); sister, Jan (Thom); father-in-law, Jerry Wannemacher, and friend, Gail Liddy; brothers-in-law, Chuck and Danne Taylor, and the family cat, "Billie".
Jerry graduated from Fairmont East High School in 1966. He played baseball for and graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in education in 1970. He was an incredible high school pitcher who struck out Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt, and Major Leaguer Steve Yeager. Jerry was also a noted softball ringer. He worked for General Motors and Delphi Automotive for 35 years retiring in 2008. He loved his Ohio sports teams including the Bengals, Reds, Buckeyes, and Flyers. He had a deep appreciation for Rock and Roll Music, and a fondness for cooking and funky hats. Please consider making a donation to your favorite charity in Jerry's name. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Sunday June 8, 2014 and the funeral will be 10:30 am, Monday June 9, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.
