Jennifer A. "Jenny" Hunter, age 61, was born May 4, 1962 to Andrew Sr. and Barbara L. Threats of Dayton, Ohio. She transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 after a long fight with illness. Jennifer confessed Christ at an early age at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful and devoted member of various church auxiliaries including the choir under the leadership of Rev. Junior F. Greenlee until her death.
Jennifer was a graduate of Jefferson Township High School and Sinclair Community College. She was a gifted Early Childhood educator that loved children and the learning process. Jennifer was known for her ability to listen, inspire, and ease troubled minds with her kind heart and sense of humor. She was always praying, singing, witnessing, and sharing the goodness of God with those she met despite living with various health struggles.
Jennifer was the loving mother of Mark A. , Natasha R., and Marquia L. Hunter; and doting grandmother of Abraham T. Johnson all of Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Sr. and Barbara Threats of Dayton, Ohio; brother-in-law, Deforest Summerville of Louisville, Kentucky; grandparents Ed and Izora (Poole) Threats of Ashland, Alabama, and Leroy and Mattie (Childs) Roberts of Middletown, Ohio. Jenny leaves to cherish her memory a loving son, Mark A. Hunter; two lovingly devoted daughters, Natasha R. Hunter and Marquia T. Hunter; adored grandson, Abraham; loving sisters, Regina (James) Burdette, Andrea (Charley) Bush, Brenda Pope of Dayton, Ohio and Mardrette Summerville of Louisville, Kentucky; loving brother, Andrew Threats, Jr. of Dayton, Ohio; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, godchildren, spiritual children, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her beautiful spirit.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 12:00pm to 12:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will follow at 12:30pm. Jennifer will be laid to rest at West Memory Gardens in Dayton.
