Jeffrey Walter "Jeff" Hunter

Jeffrey Walter “Jeff” Hunter, age 61, of Kettering, OH went to be with the Lord and his parents on October 20, 2024. Jeff was born in Dayton, OH on December 23, 1962 and was brought home in a Christmas stocking.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Walter “Jack” and Norma Jean Hunter. He is survived by three brothers, Phil (Rhonda), Tim (Darlene) and Joe (Carmen); two sisters, Teresa (Kurt) and Brenda; his two children, Jeffrey Jr. and Kearsten; five beloved grandchildren, Brycen, Lindsey, Xander, Breylen and Huntley; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. 

After graduating high school, Jeff eventually began a career as an auto mechanic at Charlie’s 76, then Folger’s Garage. He later became a Manager at Midas Muffler before finishing his career at USA Tire. 

In Jeff’s free time he enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren and family, assisting friends with automotive issues, and following his favorite sports teams. Jeff also loved good food and the comradery of friends he established at local eateries. 

Jeff was a recipient of a double lung transplant in December of 2021. He poured all of his energy into making the most of this gift of life. Jeff was grateful to the OSU Transplant Team and his family and friends that assisted him during his post-transplant journey. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm on Friday, November 8, 2024, with funeral services being held at 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek), with Father Yanca officiating. 

Interment will follow at Willow View Cemetery in Dayton.
