Thomas, Jeannette K (PJ) age 94, went home to Glory on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, after a seven-month stay at Trinity Community of Beavercreek. Born in Chicago and a life-long Cubs fan, Jeannette and family moved to Dayton in 1950. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Gerald (Jerry) in 1971, and infant son, Todd. Jeannette is survived by children, David (Linda) of Oakwood; Margaret (Richard) of Orange, California; and Daniel (Kathy) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Ruth Brandt, Amy Beach, Matt Thomas, Sue Wilson, Ellen Bobertz, Rebecca Mason, and Carolyn Weber; and eleven great-grandchildren. Jeannette spent her lifetime serving others and her Savior. Active in area Christian Missionary Alliance women's ministries, Jeannette most loved using her expert sewing skills to make clothing for returning missionaries. Other volunteer activities included Meals-on-Wheels deliveries for the American Red Cross and resident transportation for Friendship Village. She also contributed over 13,000 hours in the volunteer program at Kettering Hospital. In addition, she was a friend and caregiver to many whom God brought her way. We, the family, are especially grateful for the compassionate care given our mother at Trinity Community of Beavercreek. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with Reverend David Presher and Reverend James Nelson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cedarhill Cemetery in Trotwood. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 A.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to WEEC, 2265 Troy Rd., Springfield, Ohio 45504 in memory of Jeannette. To send the family a message online, please visit www.NewcomerDayton.com.
