Jeanette Williams, 87, of Dayton, OH, passed away on April 12, 2022 after a long battle with heart disease.
Jeanette was born on February 2, 1935 to William Gaines and Carmen Ercell Gaines in Frankfort, KY. After graduating from high school she went on to study Business at Kentucky State University. After graduation, she moved to Dayton, OH and landed her first job as a Secretary for the Department of Juveniles for several years, in which she then left and started working for Monsanto Research. She worked there for over 25 years until she retired and started working for the Dayton Public Schools till her retirement in 2008.
Jeanette had 3 wonderful children Reginal Hawkins (Carla Hawkins), Tranel Hawkins (Melonee Hawkins) and Dowyell Thomas and 3 Gorgeous Grandchildren Kelsee Thomas, Sterling Hawkins and Élan Hawkins whom loved her dearly. Jeanette was a passionate antique collector and garage sale addict. She could see a garage sale sign from around the corner. Jeanette was predeceased by her 3 sisters Jean Hawkins, Mary Knight and Shirley Carr, whom we know welcomed her with open arms in those heavenly skies. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and family members who will miss her truly.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where a memorial service will begin at 4:00 pm. To share a memory of Jeanette or leave a special message for her family, please visit the guestbook below.
