Jeanette A. "Jo" Reichard
Age 85 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at her home.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Henry I. Reichard, Jr.; one son, Henry I. Reichard III; her parents, Lee Roy & Alice Yancey; and by several brothers & sisters.
Jeanette is survived by two sons, Ronald E. and Roger D. (Patricia) Reichard; daughter-in-law, Kathy Reichard; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two brothers, Boyd (Susie) Yancey and Terry (Christine) Yancey; three sisters, Peggy Knifley, Gaynell (Gilford) Watts and Patricia Pratt; and by her extended family & many good friends.
Jeanette was one of the premier female bowlers in Dayton and her team won the Women's International Bowling Congress championship in San Diego in 1969 and at one point carried the highest female average in Dayton. She worked as the first female butcher in Dayton for McMahan's Markets from 1967 – 77. During WW II she worked as a telephone operator in Baltimore where she met her future husband.
The family will be receiving friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday (9/25) at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday with interment to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
