SODDERS (Kindred), Jean Elizabeth, 82, of Fairborn, was called into the presence of the Lord at 12:00 pm Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by her husband and brother.
Jean was born May 15, 1933 in Osborn to the late Olen and Thelma (Bartrom) Kindred. On April 26, 1957 she married the love of her life, Richard L. Sodders, who survives in Fairborn. They were married 58 wonderful years. Mrs. Sodders was a member of Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene, and loved to talk about her faith in Jesus Christ. She loved to talk about and show photos of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also loved to spend time with her dog, "Tina".
She was blessed with two children, Denise (Rob) VanDyke of Crestview, FL and David (Lisa) Sodders of Lima, OH; 5 grandchildren, Joshua VanDyke, Kristal (Brian) Longstreth, Bryan (Santana) Sodders, Douglas (Claudia) Sodders, Steven Sodders, and 7 great grandchildren. Other survivors include 3 brothers, Richard Kindred, John (Linda) Kindred, and William (Janet) Kindred, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mary Sodders, Ruth Dishon, and Olene May and brother-in-law, Ralph Sodders.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene, 1850 N. Fairfield Rd., Beavercreek. Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek and well as 1 hour prior to services at the church. The family would like to thank the Hospice of Dayton for their love and care. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
