Jean Miller Jacoby, 78, of Center Township, Butler County passed away peacefully in the company of family Sunday evening, October 24, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital. She was born September 29, 1943, the daughter of Russell and Lucille Miller of Centerville, Ohio and raised through high school on the family farm. Jean was a 1965 graduate of Wilmington College, Wilmington, Ohio with a bachelor's degree in secondary education. It was here she met her husband and lifelong partner of 57 years, Peter Jacoby. They were married in 1964. She taught Spanish in the Fairborn City School System, Ohio for 2 ½ yrs. before deciding her real calling was to raise a family and be a stay-at-home mom. She shared her husband's transfers and lived in Ohio, California, back to Ohio and finally to Butler, Pennsylvania.
Jean was a past member of the Newcomer's Club, Butler Garden Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution, General Richard Butler Chapter. She loved being with her children and cherished her grandchildren. All through her life she loved her canine friends and was most recently devoted to her last shelter dog, Rusty.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her oldest son, Steven P. Jacoby. She is survived by her husband, Peter; older sister June of Longmont, Colorado; youngest son, Brian and his wife Tricia of Fayetteville, Georgia, their son, Kyle and daughter, Hannah; daughter-in-law Donna Jacoby of Jacksonville, Florida and her daughters Emily and Anna; nephew Andrew Sullivan, wife Anna and family of Bradenton, Florida; niece Lysa Sullivan and her husband Kirk of Athens, Georgia.
Funeral services are private for family and close friends.
