Jean Miller
Age 92, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on Monday, April 3, 2006. She was residing at the Carriage Inn of Dayton.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Oren & Mary Miller; and sister, Ruth Bright.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Andrew & Vera Miller of Dayton, one nephew and four nieces, Kirk & Carol Miller of Arcanum, Joy & Steve Brannon of Vandalia, Mary & Robert Marker of Englewood, Lois Lock of Englewood, Cheryl & Ray Marker of Union and nine great nieces and nephews.
Jean studied violin under Gordiois Bruno B.A. and Paul Katz. In 1934 she was awarded a master teacher certificate for exceptional efficiency in studio management and teaching ability by the American Conservatory of Music. She was a teacher of string instruments. She played violin in Ann Hafner and Louise Hennings all Girls Orchestra, Dayton Foreman Club and the Grace Church String Choir.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria, Ohio.
