Jean Adele Blasingame

Jean Adele (Rhoades) Blasingame, age 82 of Bellbrook OH, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 24, 2018. She was born on November 6, 1935 to the late Edward and Lucile Rhoades of Dayton OH and was the beloved wife of the late John Marcus Blasingame Jr for 57 years. Jean placed her faith in Jesus Christ at a young age which guided her life.

Jean graduated Fairview High School in Dayton where she won a contest to solo with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra (DPO); subsequently, she became a member of the orchestra. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1957 where she majored in Instrumental Music Education. Jean was an accomplished violist with the DPO for 55 years and a gifted teacher.

She is survived by her sister, Kay Bartley of Texas, five children, Lee Blasingame, Lynn Wicker, Ann Hager (Doug), Becky Schatzberg (Louie), and Brad Blasingame, along with 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Jean had the gift of hospitality and delighted in entertaining her large family.

Celebration of Life service will be held on November 2, 2018 from 3-5 pm at Fairhaven Church (Schwalm Chapel) 637 E Whipp Rd Centerville, OH.

Interment will be at Mt Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek OH.
