JB Chaffins, age 78 of Moraine, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, November 12, 2023. He was born November 29, 1944 in Wayland, Kentucky the son of Cecil and Erma Chaffins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Chaffins; mother, Erma Chaffins; several siblings; son Cecil W. Chaffins; and granddaughter, Danielle.
JB is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Brenda Chaffins; daughter, Penny (Jerry) Byers; several grandchildren; two brothers, Wally (Ann) Chaffins, Steve (Sheila) Chaffins; two sisters, Hazel (Darrell) Martin, Charlotte (Kenny) Kidwell. He is also survived by many other family and friends.
He retired from Dayton Public Schools as a mechanic. JB enjoyed playing guitar at Payne Rec Center every Monday with his friends and riding his motorcycle. The most important thing to JB was his family. He is well loved and will be deeply missed.
The family hopes those who would like to honor him will find a quiet time to remember who he was in your life and be thankful for the time you had together. In lieu of a public funeral service, individual families are encouraged to have their own private memorial at this time.
