Jay D. Welty, age 68 of Columbus, passed away December 20, 2017 at Dayton V.A. Medical Center. He was born on December 21, 1948 in Ashtabula, OH to the late Karl D. and Evelyn H. (Krumbach) Welty. In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his brother, James Welty.
He is survived by his daughters, Adelina "Elizabeth" Hamilton and Carrie "Carrie Ann" Taabet; grandchildren, Adan and Amelia; siblings, John Welty, Jeff Welty, Jaynee Welty and Johanna Welty; significant other, Madeline O'Neal and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Jay proudly served in U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged following his tours. He was a member of Grand Lodge F. & A. M. of Ohio, New England Lodge No. 4 in Worthington, OH.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St., Dayton, OH.
