Jay Russell Smallwood, age 61, of Dayton passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 28, 2023.
Jay was born in Springfield, OH on March 22, 1962 to the late Charles & Daisy Smallwood.
Jay is survived by his siblings Jan Johnsonius and Jim Smallwood, nephew Eric Smallwood, and many other relatives and friends.
Jay graduated from Shawnee High School in Springfield, OH, class of 1980. He then attended Ohio State University, Clark State College, Wright State University, Sinclair Community College, as well as Wittenberg University.
Jay retired from the United States Post Office's Dayton Processing and Distribution Center, after 31 years of service.
Jay was a generous and kind man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 from 5-6:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 6:30pm.
