Jasper Douglas "JD" Clark

Jasper Douglas "JD" Clark, born on May 15, 1943, in Keokee, Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought joy to everyone who had the fortune of knowing him.

Jasper lived a life rich with purpose and passion. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from February 1963 to February 1969, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and joined the ranks of “The Walking Dead” in the First Battalion, 9th Marines during the Vietnam War. His bravery earned him numerous commendations, including the Purple Heart Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. Though he faced profound challenges during his service, including sustaining injuries from a booby trap explosion, his unyielding spirit and dedication never faltered.

After returning home, Jasper devoted himself to his career. He co-owned Beavercreek Mold & Die Inc. from 1971 to 1997 and later worked as a car salesman at Dave Dennis Chrysler Dodge Jeep. His charisma and humor made him not just a colleague but a friend to many, as he possessed the unique ability to connect with anyone, embodying the spirit of community and kindness.

Family was at the heart of Jasper’s life. He treasured his spouse, Margaret Elizabeth Clark (Breen), and took immense pride in his three children: Doug (Kelly) Clark, Tonya (Kevin) Louderback, and Tara (Jon) Schulte. He delighted in being a grandfather, sharing precious moments with Shamus, Kaden, Kane, Kesley, Halina, Abrie, and Yorie. Jasper's relationships with his siblings, Earl (Freda) Clark and Reatha (Don) Robertson, along with his close sidekick Keith Clark, were filled with warmth and camaraderie. His role as a brother, a father, and a grandfather showed his giant heart that touched so many lives.

Jasper had a zest for life that was infectious, often being the biggest joy in the room. He was a funny man who didn’t know a stranger and would gladly give you the shirt off his back. His hobbies reflected his creative spirit—he enjoyed bowling, golfing, and boating, and his hands brought life to unique creations like cigar box guitars and birdhouses. Jasper also had a talent for fixing and making things, always seeking to innovate and improvise.

Jasper is preceded in death by his loving parents, Jasper Clark and Ida B Short, as well as his siblings Harold Clark and Phyllis Ferguson. Their memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

As we gather to celebrate your life, Jasper, may we find comfort in the laughter you inspired, the kindness you shared, and the love that will continue to resonate within each of us. You will be dearly missed, but your legacy will remain a guiding light for your family and friends.

Visitation will be held on March 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Your life was a gift to us all, and we are grateful for every moment we shared.
