Jason Purcel, affectionately known as "Jay," was born on January 3, 1974, in Elyria, Ohio, and peacefully departed this life on December 9, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio. He was a beloved figure, not only in his personal life but also within the professional sphere at Dominion Enterprises, where he made his mark and built lasting relationships.
Jay graduated from Midview High School, class of '92, and carried the values of his upbringing with him throughout his life. He had an infectious sense of humor that shone through his love for dad jokes, leaving smiles and laughter in his wake wherever he went.
Jay cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his devoted wife, Robin Purcel, and his three loving step-daughters, Terri Bond, Elizabeth (Jacqueline) Bond, and Megan Eisinger. He is also remembered fondly by his mother, Linda Purcel, and his sister, Rebecca (Michael) Burnsworth. His family extends to his sister-in-law, Linda Elmore, two cherished nephews, Jonathan and Mitchel, and step-niece, Briana, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Jay's interests spanned from the intricacies of model cars to the wonders of computers and trains. He found joy in playing Neverwinter, immersing himself in the gaming world where he could connect with others and fuel his passion for strategic play.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Purcel, whose memory will always be a part of Jay’s legacy. Jay’s presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will continue to inspire laughter and love in their hearts.
The family hopes those who would like to honor him will find a quiet time to remember who he was in your life and be thankful for the time you had together. In lieu of a public funeral service, individual families are encouraged to have their own private memorial at this time.
