Jason M. Bitsko, age 21 of Huber Heights, a current student and football player at Kent State University, passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2014. He was born May 6, 1993 in Dayton. Jason was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Griffin.
Jason is survived by his mother, Pamela Bitsko; father, Randy Bitsko; sister, Kaitlin Bitsko; brother, Ryan Bitsko (Tera Crouse) and nephew, Bryson; grandparents: Mary Griffin, Mickey and Sue Bitsko; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and teammates. He is also survived by his best friends: Drew and Christian Severino and Madi Helterbran.
Jason attended Valley Forge Elementary School, Studebaker Middle School and was a 2011 graduate of Wayne High School. Jason earned a full football scholarship to Kent State University, where he started all 12 games at right tackle last season. Jason loved everyone and was always kind. He was a true follower of God, and lived his life that way every day. Jason was a successful student and athlete with many accolades and was loved by all who knew him. Jason loved every second of his life; 86,400 a day for 21 years, 3 months, 14 days.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 pm on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church Family Center Gymnasium, 6161 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday in the Sanctuary at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Huber Heights Athletic Center on Fishburg Road.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Jason Bitsko Memorial Fund, to support the Kent State University Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
