Jarrod A. "Spuddy" Jones
Age 40 of Dayton, Ohio died Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at home from complications of diabetes.
A veteran of The United States Army, Desert Storm; Jarrod worked for Ovonics Energy Products, and Gospel Superfest USA. Jarrod was a proud single dad, sports fanatic and avid volunteer in the greater Dayton area youth soccer and basketball leagues, where he coached his daughter.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Nia A. Jones, who was his joy; her brothers, Wayne and Isaiah; his parents, Nyra (Edgar) Davenport and Frederick (Wanda) Jones. Beloved grandmother, Virginia Cartwright; siblings, Justin Oliver, Tyrone (Ebony) Davenport, Lateesha, Deja and Jordon Jones. Aunts and uncles, Rosalyn Jones, Gail Peoples, Linda Jones, Bobby (Renita) Cartwright Jr., Richard Jones and Lanell Arrington. Good friend Janice Bowers, and a host of other relatives and friends to numerous to mention.
Preceded in death by his brother, Chauderick Jones and God sister, Gwentella Parks-Nixon. Service will be held Monday evening, 6:00 p.m. at Bethesda Temple Apostolic Faith Church, 3701 Salem Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45406. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Evangelist Theresa Reed will officiate, Dr. Craig S. High will eulogize.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to benefit his daughter, Nia A. Jones, in care of the Montgomery County Credit Union, 409 E. Monument Ave # 105, Dayton, Ohio 45402-1280.
Final interment will be at Dayton National Cemetery.
