Janice O. Neiderman

August 3, 1944 — January 18, 2025

Dayton, Ohio

Janice Neiderman of Dayton, Ohio passed away on January 18th, 2025, at the age of 80. Janice was born August 3, 1944, in Lynch, Kentucky to the late Willard and Vada Neiderman. After high school and college and starting as a business professional in Indiana, she eventually settled in Dayton to be near family. Even though in her heart she would always be a Kentuckian, Janice made a home in Ohio making life-long friends, meeting the love of her life Charles “Ty” Requarth, giving back to the community, and being a source of love and unwavering support to her family.

Her family wants everyone to know how much of a fighter Jan was in life. Despite the obstacles and hardships, she stayed strong. Her strength lies in her physical ability to push through adversity and her unwavering spirit in the face of hardship. Cancer was her nemesis, getting it early in life and again near the end. Regardless, she fought it with everything she had; never giving up. She is a true inspiration – a testament to the human spirit's incredible capacity for strength and endurance.

Jan had a rare gift of drawing people in and making friends. It’s no wonder she was surrounded by so many people who loved her. Many of her friends and acquaintances grew out of her career as an insurance claims adjuster in the insurance industry. She had a lot of success over the years working with various companies and eventually moved into management. It’s said she attempted to retire earlier than she actually did but it was difficult because so many continued to ask for her expertise.

After retirement, Jan gave both her time and resources to those who needed her. For many years she personally took care of her brother Billy. He was her greatest joy. The two of them laughed a lot and when Spring came around it was time for some baseball! They spent hours listening to and watching the Cincinnati Reds play, and just as many hours after each game deciphering the play. She also continued working with the Dayton Claim Adjusters Association and helped manage their annual golf tournament, as well as volunteering at Soin Medical Center where she extended her reach by adding to an ever-growing list of new friends.

Her first passion was spending every moment she could with Charles. Together they enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family and rounds of golf as often as possible. Jan adored her grandson, Joe and shared her pride in his endeavors with all around her. She played an active role as an aunt to Matt and Kendra, great aunt to Cory and Lucas, and more recently a great-great aunt to Liam and Raelynn.

She is loved and missed by so many. From our family, we want to thank friends and neighbors who were there for Janice during her difficult battle. You have our heartfelt thanks and each of you are heaven-sent warriors.

Janice is preceded in death by her life-long partner Charles Requarth; father, Willard Neiderman; mother, Vada Neiderman; sister, Geri Bowling and brother-in-law Kenneth Bowling; and brother, Billy Jean Neiderman.

On this earth she leaves behind nephew, Matthew Bowling and wife Julie Bowling; great nephew, Cory Bowling; niece, Kendra Morton and husband Tom Morton; great nephew, Lucas Morton and wife Melany Morton; great-great nephew, Liam Morton and great-great niece, Raelynn Morton; son-in-law. John Requarth and daughter-in-law Cindy Requarth; grandson, Joe Requarth; and daughter-in-law Julie Requarth.
