Janice C. Coveny, (aka Janice Wallin) 83, of Dayton, passed away February 15, 2014.
She was born January 11, 1931 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to the late William and Dorothy Mary (Rose) Gavenda.
She was a member of the Ballentine VFW #246 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Janice was a volunteer and very active with helping others and was a regular Blood Donor both in Minnesota and Illinois.
Janice is survived by her 3 Daughters, Joy Irene (Tom) Jeck, of St. Paul, Minnesota, H. Mary (Doug) Madden, Teresa Coveny Roberts, both of Dayton, OH; Brother – James (Kathy) Gavenda of Minnetonka, Minnesota; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her Husband, John Coveny; Brothers, Gene Gavenda, Gerald Gavenda, twin William Gavenda; Sisters, Joyce Gavenda-Enger, Doris "Dusty" Gavenda-Granger; and a Great-Grandson, Nickolaus Madden.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 4-5 PM.
