Janet Ruth Detrick, age 83, of Centerville, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Bethany Village. She was born May 2, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late Richard and Irene Shillito.
She was formerly on the women's board at Dayton Children's Medical Center and was in charge of the gift shop there; member of Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church for 57 years; She held many different offices at the church. She and her husband owned L-J Stained Glass for twenty years.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Lester; son, Stephen (Ruth) Detrick; two daughters, Carole (Paul) Ritzi and Leslie (Tony) Spivey; two sisters, Patricia (William) Gum and Betty Little; six grandchildren, Jill Mitchell Hodges, Nicholas Ritzi, Lauren (Joshua) Burke, Melinda Spivey, Chris (Rachel) Spivey, Elizabeth Spivey; four great-grandchildren, Michell Hodges, Faith Ritzi, Eli Burke and Nora LeBaron. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church, 4417 Bigger Rd. Kettering, OH 45440.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital or the memorial fund at Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church.
