Janet L. Martel, age 70, of Kettering, passed away January 18, 2021.
She was born May 3, 1950 in Rapid City, SD to the late Homer and Marvel (Erickson) Cabe. Janet married the love of her life, John on December 22, 1972, celebrating 48 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband John she is survived by her children, Terri Martel, William Martel, Jerid and Matt (Ross) Martel. Janet is also survived by her six grandchildren, Matthew, Meagan and Alex Buranskas, Courtney and Steven Evans, Brittany, Macie, and Mariah, four great-grandchildren, Haydn, Graesyn, Kalel, and Claire; two brothers, Richard Cabe, Mike Cabe, and many nieces and nephews.
Janet loved being outside to enjoy the flowers and butterflies, especially at her camper in Kentucky. Turtles and owls were her favorite animals besides her beloved puppies, Rowdy and Teddy which were always by her side.
She was a member of The Ladies auxiliary of the American Legion and VFW. She was an avid cook who loved to use dad as a guinea pig. She loved her children unconditionally and grandchildren with all her heart.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 12:30 am until time of service at 1:30pm.
The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face mask be worn in all public places.
