Janet L. Griffin

GRIFFIN-BROWN, Janet Loraine, age 46, was born on November 16, 1961, in Rome, GA, to the late Leroy and Annie Laura Griffin. She departed this life on October 3, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Janet graduated from Rome High School in 1979. Janet relocated to Jersey City, NJ, where she received her Bachelors Degree of Arts from Jersey City College, and where she met the love of her life, John Brown Jr. She was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents and spouse, John Brown Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories, her very special and caring in-laws, the Browns; 2 daughters, Ericka and Shaniaya; son, Erik; sisters, Annie Mosley, Dayton, OH, Ida McCorkle, Dayton, OH, Carolyn (Willie) Franklin, Dayton, OH, and Linda Griffin, Rome, GA; brothers, Willie James Griffin, Jersey City, NJ, Hughdon (Doris) Griffin, Tacoma, WA, Ben Griffin, Rome, GA, Leroy Griffin Jr., CA, Danny Griffin, Dayton, OH, and Johnny (Glenda) Griffin, Trotwood, OH; brother and sister-in-laws, Theoron Brown, Jersey City, NJ, Rhonda (Byron) Spann, Jersey City, NJ, Katrina (Hubert) Coleman, Jersey City, NJ, Anthony (Terri) Brown, St. Peters, MO, Aaron (Sonya) Brown, Baltimore, MA; 4 special nephews, Lamar, Rod, Mike, and Erik, and niece, Sharnell Breech. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2008 at United Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Lexington Ave., Dayton. Interment will follow at West Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
