Janet Bernice (Musick) Doran, age 80 of Dayton, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by her family. She was born September 23, 1936 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of the late Francis and Edna Musick.
Janet is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles R. Doran; children, Shirley A. Doran (William Traub), Charles F. (Coletta) Doran; grandchildren, Angela (Robert) Turner, Stefanie Doran, Marc (Elizabeth) Doran, Eric Doran; twin great-grandchildren, Seth and Chad Turner; sister, Frances (Gaylord) Sparks; brother, Roy F. (Doris) Musick; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her 3 brothers, John, Clifford and Milton; and 1 sister, Elizabeth.
Jan was a very proud veteran of the United States Air Force. She met her future husband, Charles, while they were both stationed in New York and they were married on January 26, 1957 in Roslyn, New York. Jan retired as a civilian employee of the Aerospace Systems Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 1997. She was extremely proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and loved the daylights out of her great-grandchildren, Chad and Seth. Jan will be missed dearly by her family and church family of Faith Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 5 pm to 6 pm at Faith Presbyterian Church, 5555 Chambersburg Rd., Dayton, OH 45424. A memorial service will begin at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Hospice of Dayton or Faith Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, in Jan's memory. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the support and care provided by the employees of Grandview Hospital Intensive Care Unit and Hospice of Dayton, Wilmington Pike.
