Jane Lee Loftus

October 15, 1946 — February 17, 2023

Jane Lee Foster Loftus, aged 76, passed away peacefully in her home at her assisted senior living center in Fairborn on 2/17/23. She was born on 10/15/46 in Lexington Ky to the late Herbert and Mamie Felts Foster. She also had a brother, George Foster who predeceased her. She attended Lafayette High School in Lexington Ky, graduating in 1964 and then went to college at Lindenwood University studying Psychology and English, graduating in 1968. She spent her working life as a social worker for children and families, working with agencies such as Department of Social Services of Georgia, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Dayton, and Department of Children and Families in St John's County Florida. She was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader for both her children. She loved animals; especially cats, loved to read, play cards, play piano and guitar and loved music of all kinds. She played in the high school marching band and enjoyed watching her grandsons' play in the local school bands when they were young. Music was her passion and she enjoyed all genres. She was an avid traveler later in life and traveled the world visiting fun places with her husband Patrick until his untimely passing. She was a kind and giving person and did all she could to help others.
She married her college sweetheart Patrick Loftus in 1967 and was married for 38 years until Patrick passed in 2005. They had retired in 1995 to their dream home in St Augustine Fl and she and Pat truly enjoyed their life there. After his passing she spent her time "snow birding" back and forth from Florida to Ohio until health issues prevented her from traveling. She then settled in Ohio and has remained here until her death. She enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids and shopping at Walmart. If she wasn't at home, you could always find her shopping there!
Survivors include 2 children: Jolie (David Sr) Crowder of Xenia OH, Jason Loftus of New Iberia LA; 9 grandchildren: David (Jessica) Crowder Jr Monticello Ky, Thomas Fields Kettering OH, Nicholas (Britika Harbison) Fields Xenia OH, Brandon (Jessica) Crowder Zanesville OH, Kendra Hall Beavercreek, OH, Hope (Zachary Woodruff) Loftus AZ, Amethyst (Devin McLaughlin) Loftus Clermont FL, Jagen (Julia) Loftus St Augustine Fl, Drake Loftus New Iberia LA; 14 great grandchildren Andrew Crowder, Nataliyah Crowder, Olivia Crowder KY, Thomas Fields (Jr), Elena Fields, Johnathan Fields, Autumn Fields, Solomon Fields, Colson Fields, Addilynn Fields, Copelynne Crowder OH; Ronin Woodruff AZ; Ezra Loftus-Gravila, Dorothy Loftus-McLaughlin FL; and many other extended family.
