Jan David Whiteman

Jan David Whiteman, age 71, of Kettering passed away on September 25, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton, as a result of multiple myeloma. He was born in Dayton on January 11, 1953 to the late Russ and Arline Whiteman. 

He is survived by his sisters, Anita Whiteman of Georgia and Karla (Ken Jr.) Brightman of Kettering. Also surviving are nephews, Kenny Brightman III and Kyle (Diana) Brightman.

Jan graduated from Fairmont West High School, Class of 1971, and ITT Technical Institute. He was employed as a field service technician for many years. Jan was passionate about travel, maps, other cultures, farm equipment, trains and large construction machinery. As his legacy, he has generously gifted to the preservation of historic farm and construction equipment at two museums. 

Family would like to give a special thank you to the Kettering Medical Center, Hospice of Dayton and Jan's closest friend, Ted Burton.

The family would prefer a donation in Jan's memory to Hospice of Dayton in lieu of sending flowers. 

 A private graveside service will be held at David's Cemetery at a later date.
