Young, James S. "Jim," 65 of Kettering passed away peacefully at his home on December 8, 2021. He was born December 5,1956 in Dayton, Ohio to Ralph and Norma Young who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Young, his sister in law Paula Young and his father in law Jesse Watkins.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 28 years, Karen (Watkins) Young; his daughter, Kyla Morgan Young and his son, Connor James Young. Also surviving are his brother, Gary and wife Barbara Young, his sister Patty and husband Larry Simmons; his sister in law Barb and husband Bob Frey; his mother in law, Phyllis Watkins Creech and brother in law, Roger and wife Liz Watkins.
He will be fondly remembered as "Uncle Buck" to his nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish his memory is his extended family and a multitude of friends, most of which he met during his 31 years working as a Carpenter/Cabinetmaker at Miami Valley Hospital, a job that he loved and thoroughly enjoyed! In addition to his job, Jim enjoyed all things Disney, vacationing in Siesta Key, FL, Gulf Shores, AL and long weekend trips to Gatlinburg, TN with friends, Jim and Teresa West. He was a member of First Baptist Kettering and a follower of Jesus Christ.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Moraine City First Church of God, 5867 N Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 11 am, at Moraine City First Church of God. Visitation prior to service to begin at 10 am at church.
