James Harris Wells

James Harris "Jim" Wells, age 90 of Butler Township, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2018. He was born March 28, 1928 to the late Charlie and Sallie Hunter-West Wells in Sherwood, TN. Jim was the youngest of 11 children. James graduated from St. Andrew's Sewanne High School in 1947. After his graduation, Jim moved to Dayton, Ohio and began work with Standard Register. He was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War. He honorably served from 1950 -1952. Jim went back to Standard Register until his retirement in 1990. He was a lifelong member of VFW 7741, Amvets Post 99, and American Legion Post 668.

Jim married Flood Crystal Bledsoe from Blackwater, VA in 1961. The two were married for 40 years until Flood's death in 2001. There was not a day that went by that James did not think about Flood. She was the love of his life.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his 10 siblings, Clydie, Oscar, Bess, Faye, Charlie Jr., Susie, Edna, Josephine, Clara, and Andrew; and loving wife, Flood Wells.

James is survived by his son, Rhett Harris Wells.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:30am at Newcomer - North Chapel. Visitation for one hour prior (9:30am-10:30am). Burial to follow at Arlington Cemetery, Brookville.
