Satterfield, James Wallace "Bud", age 87, of Miamisburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010.
Jim was preceded in death by his first wife: Helen C. Satterfield; parents: James B. & Irene (Herndon) Satterfield; two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife: Shirley A. (Springer) Satterfield; sons and daughters-in-law: James D. (Barbara) Satterfield, John E. (Ann) Satterfield; daughter and son-in-law: Martha Ann (Richard) Dils; grandchildren: Angela (Robert) Bowman, Mark, Brian, Lindsey and Tommy Satterfield; great grandchildren: Amanda, Luke and Victoria Bowman; 3 step children; 8 step grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
Jim was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving during WWII aboard the U.S.S. Boxwood and then with the 2nd Air Marine Corps. He retired as a job setter with General Motors/Delco with over 34 years of service. Jim was a member of American Legion Post #165, V.F.W. Post #3438 West Carrollton, F. & A.M. Minerva Lodge #98 Miamisburg, Antioch Shrine Dayton, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, and the executive board of #696 Retirees U.A.W. where he volunteered much of his time.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd. with Pastor Mike Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow the service at David's Cemetery in Kettering. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. with Masonic services beginning at 7:45 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Shriners Hospital for Children or the charity of one's choice in memory of Jim.
