KIRKMAN, James W. Sr. (Woody) 82 of Dayton; Woody was born to Max & Gertie Kirkman in Clifty, KY on Jan 31, 1922 and went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ and his loving wife, Esther, Saturday September 4, 2004. He was a wonderful husband, father, papaw, and granpapaw. Survivors include his 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis & Clark Collins of Lewisburg, OH, Sandra & Denzil Connors of Kettering, OH & Kimberly & Wayne Hicks of Bellbrook, OH; son and daughter-in-law James & Renee Kirkman Jr. of Centerville, OH; 7 grandchildren, Sharon Ark, Victoria Dearth, Clark Collins Jr., Teri Kuzma, Sheila Huffman, Matthew Kirkman & Laura Childs; 7 great grandchildren, Brittany Dearth, Ashley & Connor Ark, Ryan & Holly Huffman, Christopher & Alison Kuzma; 1 sister, Margie Harberson; 1 brother, Douglas Kirkman; numerous nieces, nephews, family & friends; special friend, Irene Osborn. Services will be held 1 pm Thursday, 9/9/04 at Newcomer Farley Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd. Officiating services will be Pastor Steve Thompson & Rev. Gladys Connors. Burial will follow in Miami-Corwin Cemetery, Waynesville, OH. Family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In James' memory, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
