James W. Doyon, 77, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away May 14, 2015. He was born September 11, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio. He was the only child of Julius and Rosella (Miller) Doyon. He married Beverly (Riggs) Doyon on June 24, 1961 in Indianapolis, Indiana and they were together for 51 years before her death in 2012. Jim was an avid boater and fisherman, and loved nothing more than sitting out at his Ohio River lot. He and Bev traveled throughout their lives, often visiting Canada, California, the Caribbean, and Florida, and they also traveled to the Bahamas, England, and France.
His pastimes also included playing various card and dice games, including euchre, and visiting with friends and family, especially the extended family of his uncle and aunt, Ben and Bea Miller with whom he and Bev were very close. Jim was an engineer who designed coal conveying systems for large power plants and worked for two major companies in that market. He decided to start his own business in the mid-1990s, and was successfully self-employed for the last 20 years of his life. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and served in Strategic Air Command from 1955-59.
He is survived by his sons Thomas of Bellbrook, Ohio and Robert of Tracy, California; daughter-in-law. Susan of Bellbrook and two dearly loved granddaughters, Emily of Bellbrook and Audrey Richardson of Atlanta, Georgia. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family, especially his very dear friends Sylvia Hook, the entire Miller family and Bob and Lori Hill. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and his parents. Jim touched many lives, and will be fondly remembered by all who met him. The family is planning a memorial service to celebrate his life in Marietta, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those wishing to remember Jim to consider donating to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Dayton.
