James R. Vaughan

James "Jim" Vaughan, age 71 of Riverside, OH passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born June 16, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio to James and Bernadette (Krause) Vaughan. Jim married Mary Hardegen on June 25, 1971 in Dayton, OH.

Jim worked at Miami Cigar and Tobacco Company, retiring in 2009. He was a life member of the Milton Athletic Club in Dayton where he served as a board member for many years. Jim was responsible for many of the activities that took place at the club and could be found there every day of the week. He was a loving husband and father who loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

James is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary; two sons, Aaron J. (Jessica) Vaughan and Chris J. (Tabatha) Vaughan; a daughter, Angela M. Vaughan; six grandchildren, Marissa, Caleb, Lukas, Ethan, Emma and Layla; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am at St. Helen Catholic Church on Thursday, October 25, 2018. Burial of Jim's cremated remains will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
