James Dale "Jim" Unverferth, age 37 of Kettering, passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2017. He was born in Dayton to proud parents Jerome "Jerry" and Sandra Unverferth. Jim graduated from Beavercreek High School and The Greene County Career Center in 1997. He worked as a equipment machine operator for Metcon and previously for many years at Beavercreek Landscape. Jim married Molly Drake in 2012.
The couple have three beautiful children together, Drake, Tanner, and Carson. Jim loved the outdoors. He cherished spending time with his family and friends. In his free time Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, and amateur radio, KD8YPU. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eileen and William Unverferth, and Jack Kilgore; uncle, Mark Unverferth; and an infant child.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving wife, Molly Unverferth; children, Drake, Tanner, and Carson; canine companion, Camo; parents, Jerome "Jerry" and Sandy Unverferth; grandmother, Daphne Kilgore; sister, Melissa Unverferth; and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 4pm - 8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek. A graveside service will take place on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10 am at David's Cemetery, Kettering. (Please meet at the Mad River Road entrance to the cemetery and we will process to the cemetery together.)
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Day Air Credit Union, In memoriam of James Unverferth (In care of Molly Unverferth), a scholarship fund for his children.
