James Calvin Taylor "Jim", age 89, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, 14 April 2022.
James was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a devoted friend to many. He also enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends with his wife, Juanita. James retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, following 34 years of "Meritorious Service" where he first worked at the Comm-Center with the U.S. Military's early Sperry Univac Mainframe Computer System, and later in Foreign Technology. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, and served during the Korean War.
James was a born-again Christian who truly loved and served his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He was a valued Biblical and faith based resource to his family and friends. In his final days, though unable to read or even turn the pages, James would slowly slide his Bible from his bed table, and hold it as he slept.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Juanita, on 19 February 2022.
James is survived by his children, son James G. (Karen) Taylor, daughter Ruth Ann (Donald) Macon, daughter Bonnie (Stephen) North, son Timothy (Kathleen) Taylor, daughter DeBorah (Michael) Stephenson, and son Philip (Juliet) Taylor; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at First Baptist Church, 323 N. 11th St., Miamisburg, Ohio, 45342. Funeral service to follow at 11:30 am.
James' wish was to carry-on his wife's love for donating Bibles through The Gideons International in the memory of their loved ones and friends. Please consider honoring James with a donation to https://www.geideons.org/donate.
